 | | | | | | Hygiene at the heart of Kopex approvals | | | 25/01/2005 | | Few industries face stricter controls on their working environment than food and drinks manufacturers; a fact that Kopex International responds to fully through both the quality and certification of its conduit systems.
As a manufacturer experienced in meeting the requirements of clients from the health service through to defence contractors, Kopex International appreciates the necessity of complying with diverse demands. It has therefore developed a range of products that can achieve high standards of hygiene, together with physical toughness and durability.
The company has a long track record in the supply of high performance conduits for a diversity of building services applications. The majority of the systems in the range have been tested to comply with IP67, while the flexible products have undergone the cyclical testing set out in EN 50086.
A spokesperson for Kopex International states: "Although electrical conduits are rarely a 'contact' product in the food preparation environment, they must not harbour the build up of dirt or germs and should generally be able to withstand vigorous wash-down or steam cleaning.
"While many of our customers in the food and drinks industry tend to specify from the Kopex Stainless Steel Conduit Range, we also have plastic systems available where special plasticisers have been used so that they cannot leach and cause any taint. Our EMB conduits have even been utilised in the manufacture of heat sealing machines for food packaging."
Importantly, the testing and approvals for Kopex's products covers not just the main stretch of the conduits but also their connectors. This offers the specifier total confidence that the level of protection targeted is achieved across the complete system. |
